The corporate deals, funding racing cars, asian expansion, hypothetical technology/engine deals, etc, all seem to hint at a strategy of deluded grandeur when faced with the results. Even when lieing, you can try to make it a good lie (not the case with AV). I believe Tasos is a guy with great ambition and "a lot of nerve" to be able to lie so blatantly and even, so badly. We/me put up with it because we loved to play DFO (the same does not apply to DFUW which has record-low amount of subscribers). If Darkfall Online isn't re-released I do not see Darkfall Unholy Wars lasting much longer after recent events.ĭon't forget Tasos-run Aventurine, is the company that lied to its player base constantly and throughout their entire existance. Was everything else just repurposed or changed a little to make it "feel" like a new game, to this day they are still repurposing Darkfall Online content or core mechanics.ĭid Aventurine really not have problems with the original game and decide to reboot their game just to get a quick buck and whoever profited dipped out (Tasos, last of original crew gone)? Why on earth would you put so little effort into releasing a sequel to a game that originally lacked content to release a game with not even half of the content and tons of bugs/dupes? My conclusion is, everything Darkfall Unholy Wars was built on was a lie and should only ever be treated as such. The only differences were prowess system which was developed during beta, class system only HALF of the way implemented, new SHIT UI, smaller map that was thrown together from pieces of the original, graphics/environmental sounds that were being made for darkfall 2010 update. Many of the features from Darkfall Online were gone. The thing is at launch we BARELY had a game to play. So my question is, was this all one big scam? During beta/early launch many of us found bugs that were in the original Darkfall, some that had been fixed and some still present on shutdown which made us come to the conclusion at that time it had to be the same engine. Axilmar himself said the coding looks very similar. With the emu team working on reverse engineering Darkfall Online, they have pointed out that it is not as hard to change code/implement stuff as Aventurine played it off as.
